H.E. Marc Ravalomanana, President of the Republic of Madagascar, arrived in Sirte, Libya for the 13th African Union Summit where he will meet with other Heads of State to discuss the crisis in Madagascar.
President Ravalomanana will continue to work closely with all parties interested in finding a peaceful and lasting solution to the crisis in Madagascar. Following the Extraordinary Summit convened by SADC in Johannesburg last weekend, where he met with several regional Heads of State, President Ravalomanana again declared his commitment to support the process of further dialogue endorsed by SADC and the AU. President Ravalomanana applauded SADC's efforts to help bring about a peaceful solution to the crisis.
President Ravalomanana remains deeply concerned for the Malagasy people who have continued to suffer under the illegal regime following an unconstitutional change of government in March.
