GOVERNANCE

Notes with regret the unconstitutional change of government in Madagascar and in accordance with the decision of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union, calls for the restoration of constitutional order in the Republic of Madagascar;

Categorically rejects and condemns in the strongest terms the unconstitutional change of government of Madagascar and calls for a return to constitutional order;

Expresses its deep concern for the suffering of the people of Madagascar and called for an urgent solution to prevent negative social and economic consequences of prolonged uncertainty, particularly for ordinary people;

Welcomes and agrees, as declared by the African Union, to support SADC's efforts to restore constitutional order in Madagascar considering all options including the possibility of military intervention;
